Promises vs. Power: Trump’s Low-Income Pledges vs. Wealthy Cabinet Influence

Presentation by NWSOFA’s Restore our Democracy’s Ed Spire

The Pledge

_Donald Trump’s campaign was built on promises to champion the working class, pledging to revitalize American industries, create jobs, and prioritize the needs of low-income voters. He positioned himself as a populist outsider intent on “draining the swamp” and dismantling the influence of elites in Washington._

Vs Reality

However, his incoming administration, filled with wealthy cabinet members and advisors like Elon Musk, has sparked concerns about whether his policies will align with those promises or reflect the priorities of the rich and powerful. Critics argue that these appointments suggest a potential disconnect between Trump’s populist rhetoric and the reality of his governance.

Alarming Environmental Impact”

Factory Farming’s Environmental Impact.

.

Dive into the pressing issues surrounding factory farming and its impact on our environment, health, and communities. This program will feature an updated presentation of the new Factory Farm Map Resource, including a closer look at state-specific data for the Midwest. We’ll explore how factory farms are affecting water and air quality both locally and nationally, as well as their role in corporate agriculture’s increasing focus on profits over sustainable and healthy food systems.

Farm Bill delayed..

With the Farm Bill delayed until next year, this is the perfect time to join the discussion, get informed, and start planning for action. Our previous recorded programs have sparked significant interest nationwide, and this updated session is sure to provide critical insights into this growing issue.

Don’t miss this opportunity to learn, engage, and make a difference!

Together, we can advocate for a more sustainable and just food system.

Looking forward to seeing you there!.
