Why April 1st Illinois Elections Matters & How to Get Involved

Join Indivisible Illinois for a virtual panel discussion on the critical importance of the upcoming April 1st Illinois municipal, school board, and township elections! These elections may not always make headlines, but their impact on our daily lives is profound—from education policies and community investments to public services and local governance.

We’ll hear directly from elected officials and candidates about how these offices shape our communities and why your vote is essential in creating positive change. Whether you’re a seasoned voter or new to local elections, this discussion will empower you with the knowledge and motivation to engage in the democratic process.

But voting is just the first step. We need YOU to take action to help elect candidates who reflect our values and will fight for strong schools, inclusive policies, and thriving communities. Learn how you can volunteer, phone bank, canvass, and spread the word to ensure every voter is informed and engaged before April 1st.

– Jobs gain 151,000 new jobs

– Unemployment increases by .1% to 4.1%,

– Inflation (CPI) rose .2% in December, 12-month + 2.8% ..

– Average hourly earnings have increased by 4.0 % over past 12 mths

– Labor force participation rate, remains at 62.4 %.

The Illinois Legislative Process

ACLU Illinois has agreed to join our Indivisible meeting and will present “Advocacy 101” training on Illinois Legislative Advocacy, including how a bill becomes law in Illinois; how to find your elected and appointed officials and how to talk to them; how to navigate the Illinois General Assembly website and how to file witness slips.

If you aren’t familiar with the Illinois legislative process or if you want a refresher, please join us. Legislation in Illinois and other states is critically important. Come learn how to be a part of it.

You can also phone bank for Democratic candidates running for office in St Joe Township, which is in Mary Miller’s district.

Join us as we reach out to Democrats and progressive independent voters we get them to turn out to vote in the crucial Supreme Court election April 1!

All training provided! We’ll be calling the good people of WI, making sure they’re on our side, spreading the word about the upcoming 4/1 election for the state Supreme Court… and making sure they get out to vote
