October 9th Special 2023 Report on the IRA’s Impact on Climate Change

Monday, October 9th, 7:00 PM central ZOOM

The IRA – Inflation Reduction Act,

(which was signed into law by President Biden one year ago)

is an example of how we can come together across races and places to solve big problems.

For too long, Big Pharma and Big Oil have put profits ahead of people. Now the IRA is creating millions of good-paying clean energy jobs, keeping money in our pockets thanks to healthcare savings, and providing investments to help our communities thrive with reliable energy.

What’s there to celebrate?

Every household in America will benefit from the progress of the last couple years. Whether it’s ushering in a clean energy future, creating millions of good-paying, union jobs, or keeping money in the pockets of our hard working families, the federal government is providing the investments necessary for us to build a better future for generations to come.

Creating Millions of Jobs

Our communities will benefit  from ~9 million jobs being created over the next 10 years. That’s just about 1 million good-paying, family-supporting jobs per year!

Since it was signed into law in August 2022, the Inflation Reduction Act has already created over 170,600 jobs thanks to 272 new clean energy projects in 44 states!

These jobs are being created across the country and are for everyone. Whether you live in a suburban, rural, or metropolitan area, have a college degree or not, there’s a job (and training) for all kinds of job seekers.

Keeping Money In Our Pockets

Homeowners can take advantage of discounts to reduce costs of making their homes more energy efficient. This includes things like rooftop solar, energy efficient home appliances, and more!

PLUS much more including the Lower prescription drug prices for seniors.

Looking forward to seeing you on the October 9th on ZOOM, Mark Lundholm, NWSOFA Climate Change Issue Team Lead
