As national politics grow more chaotic, women are stepping up to defend progressive values and protect their communities. NWSOFA/Indivisible invites you to a vital discussion on how local action can safeguard Illinois from harmful federal policies, with a focus on women’s issues, leadership, and advocacy.
Each day the new administration brings more chaos, leaving many feeling exhausted and overwhelmed. But as activists, we must stay informed. Fortunately, Illinois leaders, including Gov. Pritzker, Mayor Johnson, and local officials, are committed to protecting our state from harmful federal policies. We need to know that 85% of what affects us can be addressed right here in Illinois.
That’s why we must focus on the upcoming April 1st election, ensuring that progressive candidates for School, Village, and Township Boards are elected.
A crucial ballot initiative is the Palatine Township 708 Mental Health Board referendum. If passed, it will provide grants to strengthen local services for mental health, addiction, and developmental disabilities issues that disproportionately impact women as caregivers and advocates. Hugh Brady from NAMI will present on how this initiative can support families and communities.
Maria Gallo will highlight key races and how we can mobilize voters.
