NWSOFA Indivisible SWW January Meeting
January 12, 2023 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Hi SWW- Hoping your Holidays were Relaxing and a great time to catch up with family and friends. Michelle and I are excited to start our new year with all of you. For our first meeting on Thursday, 1/12/23 at 7:00 on Zoom ( RSVP on NWSOFA.ORG or its Facebook page) we are welcoming two District 211 School Board Candidates, Kim Cavill and Michelle Barron to talk with us about their visions and policies. The School Board Elections are coming up in April-and we need to know what is at stake if our candidates do not win. Right wing candidates are pushing hard to fill school board seats across the nation and here too. We invite you to fight for our candidates who are for the inclusion and openness that we stand for in NWSOFA. Please join us to welcome these dedicated candidates. Also on the agenda- Our Co-lead Michelle Wilson will give a power point presentation on the topic of Paid Family Leave, the State of ChildCare, Eldercare. How have you or your family and friends been impacted emotionally and financially by the struggles of adequately caring for a newborn, older child, an ill relative? In most cases, women are the ones who step away from their jobs to take on this very important care. We need your stories. And finally – please let us know what is on your mind and in your heart in 2023. Last year a lot of SWW focus was on the election-our candidates did so well! YES!! Now this year let’s explore topics and policies that pertain to Women’s emotional, physical and sustainable growth. Our newly elected leaders need to know about what concerns us so they can work toward better policies here in Illinois and then nationwide.
