Take Action Now to Create Safer Communities for Everyone: Learn How Gun Violence Impacts the LGBTQ+ Community and What You Can Do to Help Make a Difference
Please join us, GVP Co-Leads, Natalie Warren and Cathy Risberg, on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at 7:00 pm for the NWSOFA/Indivisible Gun Violence Prevention Team monthly meeting on Zoom at 7:00 pm CDT.
Let us know you will be attending … RSVP here-> https://mobilize.us/s/HJ4OGo
According to Sandy Hook Promise: “All people should feel safe in their homes, schools and communities. Sadly, the fact is that lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and/or queer (LGBTQ+) people face higher risk of becoming victims of gun violence.”
This higher risk for the LGBTQ+ community of becoming victims of gun violence – and what we can do to help make a difference – will be the focus of our meeting on Thursday, March 27, 2025.
————— featured speaker will be Carolyn Pinta ————————
Our featured speaker will be Carolyn Pinta (she/her), Director of The Pinta Pride Project/Buffalo Grove Pride. The Pinta family founded the nonprofit in 2018 in order to highlight, celebrate and normalize the LGBTQ community in the suburbs of Chicago in a family-friendly way. They are most well-known for the pride parades they throw each June.
Your support of the LGBTQ+ community has never been more important than right now – so we hope you will be able to attend on March 27th and learn how you can do to add your voice of inclusion, support and friendship into the noise of hate, fear and division.
