December’s Fiscal and Economic Issues Discussion of the US Economic Facts’

Monday, December 18th. The start time is moved back to 8 pm to accommodate an Indivisible Illinois meeting on immigration.

The NWSOFA Fiscal and Economic Issues group will meet on Monday, December 18th at 8 pm.

The Zoom room will open by 7:50 pm. Come join us, catch up on this year’s economic news and share your thoughts.

Great Recent Economic News:

– the debt ceiling increased until 2025, but credit rating lowered because we came close to not raising it

– nonfarm payrolls increased by 199,000 in November

– the unemployment rate was 3.7% in November

– The twelve month CPI has declined from 9.1% last June (2022) to 3.1% in November 2023.

– Twelve month PCE inflation was at 3.0% in October 2023

On Monday, December 18th, David and Karl will explain what this all means.
