Sara Horan and Bill Davis – NWSOFA Chapter Co-Leads
Thanksgiving
What a wonderful time of the year. A time to share our thanks with family and friends. A time to reflect on what is important to us, our families, our country. We want to thank all our wonderful Leads and Volunteers for stepping up to continue the fight, to do the hard work, and persist on our issues that are so important to all of us. Thank you, NWSOFA Family!
But before we can enjoy turkey and pie, these are crucial actions needed NOW.
ACA (Obamacare) is still the law. They have shortened the enrollment for everyone who needs to re-enroll and anyone needing it for the first time. Nov.1-Dec. 15. Please spread the word, join our phone bank and check out resources and help below.

Now is also a good time to let your voice be heard. One voice can change a room or the Thanksgiving table together we can make a difference!

Join us as we make our voices heard on an extremely important policy issue!
Peter Roskam is the headline speaker at this large GOP “Reagan Dinner” Fundraiser.
As the Chairman of the House Subcommittee on Tax Policy, Peter Roskam is helping to write a tax plan that would:
Eliminate $2.4 trillion in revenue over 10 years.
Give taxpayers in the top 1 percent (incomes above $730,000) half of that money, (making it the largest transfer of wealth from vulnerable and middle-class Americans to the wealthy in history).
Increase taxes on 80% of small businesses ,
Drastically cut taxes on mega corporations and private behemoths like Koch Industries.
The GVP Issues team has been working for over four years keep the conversation about gun violence going forward to take action to change our laws with the goal of creating safer communities for everyone, including our law enforcement officers, in our state and nation. We hold 90 minute planning meetings typically (some exceptions) on the 3rd Thursday of each month at 6:30 pm. If you are interested in working to reduce gun violence in America, we invite you to our next meeting. Registration is preferred as seating is sometimes limited.
As the chair of NDRC, Holder will provide insight on why this issue matters and why it’s the right time to push for fair congressional districts. During the online training webinar we’ll be presented with ways we can take action and begin organizing in our community. Plans are being made to have engaging and transformational grassroots activities throughout the country, and there will be various opportunities to get involved.
The fight to end partisan and racial gerrymandering will not be easy. The work we do now, in preparation for the drawing of new maps in 2021, is critical to our success..
“Hope is not blind optimism. Hope is that thing inside us that insists, despite all evidence to the contrary, that something better awaits us if we have the courage to reach for it, and to work for it, and to fight for it.” President Barack Obama
