Please Attend the Monthly Fiscal and Economic Issues Discussion Group Meeting.We will have our standard update of the economy, both jobs and GDP. We will also continue our discussions of the economic recovery and policy issues that affect the recovery.

2nd quarter 2014 GDP growth revised at +4.6%
Jobs rebounded in September 248,000
August and July months revised up 69,000
Unemployment now at 5.9%
Job have been added every month since March 2010
2.6 million Jobs added in the last 12 months
2014 Fiscal Numbers will be released by our meeting.. preliminary indications are that final deficit will go down 200 Billion per the CBO
As always this is a discussion group .. bring your articles and your wits to talk about all sides of the issues.
What did Scotland teach us about their recent election – anything? What did this country, founded in 843 CE, an integral part of the United Kingdom for more than 300 years, instruct us about the elements of true patriotism and dedication to the principles of loyalty to one’s own nation?
Certainly it was not the question of independence from or its continued unification with the U.K. Maybe it was the 85 percent voter turnout that convinced the British that, primarily, Scotsmen really care about their future and the welfare of its citizens. Can we conclude that to separate or remain united was secondary?
Undoubtedly, the upcoming election turnout will reveal that the Scots taught this still fledgling democracy nothing as we will again see little more than 40 percent of the American voting-age public cast their ballot in November.
How did we create such disdain and apathy toward our country by its own citizens?

Our GVP Team and General NWSOFA Members met on October 16th to discuss Gun Violence issues including other social issues like Climate Change, Marriage Equality, Equal Pay, Raising the Minimum Wage, Healthcare and Comprehensive Immigration Reform. Great round table.. lots of discussion and direction.

Over the years the American Citizens have lost their voices, believing that we can not make a difference. We have been beat down by the constant droning noise of the conservative right. This onslaught has made us like sheep .. afraid to express our views. Not anymore! OFA gives us back our voices and by working together we are making change one issue at a time. Together we can and will make a difference.
