Sustainable Investing & the Rise of Renewable Energy”

NWSOFA Environmental ZOOM

Tuesday’s Climate Change speaker: Alex Papadopoulos on ESG

NWSOFA-Indivisible’s Climate &Environmental ZOOM, on March 25th @7pm CST focus’s on Sustainable Investing and the Rise of Renewable Energy explores the dynamic intersection of socially responsible investing (SRI) and the global shift toward renewable energy.

Our Speaker this month, Alex Papadopoulos, a seasoned SRI/ESG funds advisor, emphasizes the critical role of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) criteria in guiding investment strategies that align financial returns with sustainability goals.

With renewable energy investments surpassing $2 trillion globally, investors are increasingly drawn to opportunities in solar, wind, and energy storage technologies, which are reshaping the energy landscape.

A key focus will be on advancements in renewable energy storage, particularly battery technologies, which have been transformative in addressing the intermittency of solar and wind power. These developments not only stabilize renewable energy supply but also enhance energy resilience for businesses and households.

Finally, the presentation will address broader trends in sustainable investing, including the rise of green bonds, biodiversity-focused solutions, and transition investing. Attendees will gain insights into navigating this evolving landscape while positioning their portfolios to support a low-carbon future.

In simpler terms ESG means using Environmental, Social and Governance factors to assess the sustainability of companies and countries.
