Fire up the base, that’s what! And it’s not too soon to start.
In fact, one of last month’s speakers, FL State Rep Anna Eskamani, showed us what she does in order to win over voters long before an election happens—create problem-solving events in off-years to keep our names out there, champion economic issues, connect to the common good. But how?
That’s what this month’s meeting is all about. What will it take to fire up the base in your neck of the woods? Has your group held a fire-up-the-base event, or are you planning one? We’ll hear from several group leaders who either have experience holding fire-up events or are planning one, but most of all, we want to learn from your experience!
We all know how bright red most of rural Illinois is, but as State Treasurer Mike Frerichs once told us, there are plenty of Democrats in rural Illinois—they just don’t realize it yet. It’s up to us to help them realize it and get them to vote Democratic in 2024.
